Following an unsuccessful direct Recruitment campaign run by our client, GPA was brought in to provide specialist expertise in recruiting Procurement practitioners to support a major procurement transformation programme. These roles were seen as business critical and GPA were initially tasked with recruiting four “best in class” candidates. Having been out to market our client had struggled to find the calibre of individuals required to embrace the new commercial environment they were creating within the Procurement team. GPA’s challenge was to source fresh candidates who not only met the brief, but exceeded expectations.
GPA was awarded the tender and was initially tasked with recruiting against four “best in class” Procurement roles, including a Head of Category Management, Head of Commercial Contracts, Commercial Contracts Manager x 2 and an Operations Supply Chain Manager. Having successfully filled these roles (5 people appointed), we were then asked to recruit additional positions including a Category Manager Professional Services and a Procurement Analyst plus a number of Interim roles to support various projects.
We were asked to work to a fairly stringent timeframe and following the agreement of our proposed campaign plan, we went out to the market to source suitably qualified and experienced candidates. All candidate applications had to be closely monitored and scrutinised against our clients’ diversity and equality policy. We incorporated a range of tools and techniques to source, assess and interview candidates against our clients’ specific needs and our shortlists were presented to and discussed with the CPO prior to client interviews.
GPA successfully placed 8 candidates against an original brief of 4 and we work in partnership with our client as a supplier of choice to support on-going recruitment requirements for both permanent and interim recruitment campaigns. As a further endorsement of GPA’s capabilities we work closely with many of our placed candidates who have themselves become clients.
