Our client - a major department at the forefront of delivering procurement best practice, efficiency and savings across government and the wider public sector - has a requirement for a number of Category Managers to develop and deliver pan-government procurement solutions. The post holder will be responsible for the management, and continuous commercial improvement of the existing category agreements and suppliers.
They are looking for experienced Category Managers within the Travel Category with experience of:
• A Category Management approach to identify opportunities and deliver high value and complex contracts for the provision of Air, Rail & Hotel Travel Services.
• The ability to deliver further value through supplier relationship management
The ideal candidates will have:
• Knowledge and experience of procurement and category management.
• Travel category knowledge and expertise (Air, Rail & Hotels).
• Successful track record of delivering savings.
• Analytical and problem solving skills.
• Understanding of EU procurement legislation.
• Stakeholder management skills, including ability to engagement and influencing in complex customer and supplier environments.
• Ability to relate business strategy into deliverable business solutions and operational delivery outputs.
• Strong inter-personal and influencing skills.
